In the listening session a tribute to Chic Chocolate was presented with his songs and instrumental recordings. After that a discussion on the first Miss India mother daughter pair Pramila – Naqi Jehan and M Kumar (husband of Pramila) was done. It was also highlighted how Na Kisi Ki Aankh Ka Noor Hoon is mis attributed to Bahadur Shah Zafar which is actually written by Muztar Khairabadi, father of Jaan Nisar Akhtar and grandfather of Javed Akhtar. Two recordings of it from Lal Qila (1960) and Rajkumari’s rendition of the same for Toote Taare (1948) were played. Here is the first part:-
In the Aap Ki Pasand session first the above mentioned Toote Taare was played and then Jaan Nisar Akhtar’s song from CID was played. Then a discussion on Hiren Bose’s film Raami Dhoban (1953) was done and two songs from it were played. Two choices of Anoop Gadodia ji were played too after which the session was concluded. At the end it was mentioned that 10 years of the sessions shall be completed in the 1st session of 2024 and Everyone was requested to join in the first session of next year. Thanks to all members who joined today.
