There have been many instances in Hindi film music where music directors have re-used their tunes for a variety of reasons. Music composers, like any creative person, can get extremely attached to their creations. One can imagine how painful it must be for them if one of their creations does not get the expected reaction from the public. More so, when a film they compose for does not get a release. In such cases, they tend to re-use their tunes in the hope that it gets the reach they think it deserves. Here, I am talking about one such pair. Aziz Hindi (a.k.a Aziz Khan) had composed a lovely Rajkumari solo in a 1940s film called Dil Ke Tukde. The song was Kali Kali Raat Beeti jaaye Barsaat. Since the film remained unreleased, he used the same tune and created Birha Ki Raat Mose Kaati Naahi Jaat to be sung by Asha Bhosle for Biwi (1950). The lyricist in both cases was Nazim Panipati Here is the song from Dil Ke Tukde ... and here is the one from Biwi
