Playback Singer: Rajkumari, who also used to ACT in a few films of the '30s-decade. 

 

She was one unique singer from Benaras who was gifted with a 'thin' voice and proficient in classical singing.

 

 

Damn pity she was never honored by the Govt of India for her immense and unforgettable contribution towards Indian Cine Music .She has rendered film songs for almost all the top MDs of the 30s, 40s & 50s decades and also rendered in a no.of regional regional languages.

 

The one tricky question now:

 

Has Rajkumari composed music for any film ??

The answer would be: By NAME - Yes ----BUT, BUT her husband thence, HARI BHAI ( an A.I.R. musician) used to compose the tunes.

Rajkumari Ji was very great, she would have indeed composed music. Such a genius was she, even though she didn't learn classical music, she did a brilliant job with Thumris.
