This was narrated by Vinod's son-in-law Kelly Mistry ji.
One of the family favourites by Vinodji. This was originally sung by Lata Mangeshkar, and has remained one of Lataji's personal favorites. There is a small anecdote attached to this song too. Once, many years ago, when Veera, my mum and I were waiting at Dr. Kapoor's clinic in Santacruz, Asha Bhonsle also happened to be there. This was just opposite to the house Vinodji lived and died in. When Ashaji mentioned that a great composer had lived there, Veera, my wife, burst out, "he was my father". Ashaji responded, "are you Veena ke Veera?" (Veena is his elder daughter) We got talking, and she sang the complete song "Ka Ga Re" right there and from memory.
Here is the song which was sung by Asha Bhosle at the meeting:-
